Interview with the stakeholder

At the beginning of the project, three of us had an interview with the client and learnt his vision, how the product had been developed, his measures of success and what he expected from us in terms of deliverables.

Competitor and Comparative Analysis

Before and after the interview with the client we compared Tribe of Five with other goal setting tools, such as non-tech (class-like or conference structures) and tech solutions (goal achieving apps) and found the product positioning of Tribe of Five as follows:

Comp Landscape.jpg

Tribe of Five differentiators:
1. Exclusively social within assigned tribe
2. Focus on one challenge at a time
3. Type of challenges
4. No instructor

Note: Both solutions lack accountability, while Tribe of Five puts it at its core.

Tech solution: Most apps are free to download, have a progress bar, type-in functions, encouragement quotes and push notification. The purpose is to guide, motivate and inspire users; however, most of the time users interact with the app by themselves. As a result, they stop using it.

Non tech solution: Motivation, inspiration and commitment fade when people leave that environment.  Afterwards, due to lack of accountability and direction, very few people take action.

Survey

To validate the findings from the past user interviews and learn the goal setting behavior among potential users, we conducted an online survey, focusing on those who didn't use Tribe of Five. We got 36 respondents and 94% of them have set goals for themselves.
